STATE AND FEDERAL TAX INCENTIVES
LA LINK can assist you in finding out if you qualify for up to $8,500 in federal tax credits for each eligible job seeker you hire.
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), which includes the Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit (WtW), has two purposes:
- To promote the hiring of individuals who qualify as a member of a target group, and
- To provide a federal tax credit to employers who hire these individuals.
As an employer, you may qualify for a tax credit of up to $8,500 if the employee is a member of a designated target group
and meets that group's specific requirements. There are nine target groups for WOTC eligibility. Employers may
claim the Work Opportunity Tax Credit or the Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit for a total of two years. Contact your nearest LA LINK office for more information.

OFFICE OF SMALL BUSINESS
LA LINK can connect you with the Los Angeles County Office of Small Business (OSB) which provides a regional resource where companies can learn where technical assistance can be obtained in other public agencies in Los Angeles County, such as the State
Employment Development Department, Small Business Development Centers, etc. OSB provides small businesses the ability to
grow by giving them contracting and bid resources, not only with the 37 County departments, but also with the federal
