Civil Rights Unit

The Civil Rights Unit supports LADPSS by investigating allegation of civil rights discrimination filed by applicants or participants against LADPSS employees and monitoring LADPSS and its contracted and sub-contracted public contact offices for compliance with CDSS Division 21 Regulations. It also serves as the LADPSS Liaison to community-based organizations and advocates who serve the limited English proficient/non-English speaking and disabled population of Los Angeles County.

How to File a Civil Rights Complaint?

If you are currently receiving benefits from LADPSS, you may file a civil rights complain against LADPSS staff that you feel have discriminated against you. You may complete the Complaint of Discriminatory Treatment Form PA 607 and mail it to the following address:
Department of Public Social Services - Civil Rights Section
12860 Crossroads Parkway South
City of Industry, CA 91746

If you don't have access to the Internet and/or find yourself in one of our offices, please ask your worker to provide you with a Complaint of Discriminatory Treatment Form PA 607 or ask to speak to the Civil Rights Liaison.

For more information about civil rights' complaint investigation process, you may call the Civil Rights Discrimination Complaint Hotline at 1(562) 908-8501.
